Possum Galore
A life ‘Down Under’!
Three days!
So...lovely as it is to get all the rain we have been enjoying, the down side of all this water is that the weeds have gone crazy! It has taken us three days to get the garden from this
to this.
No...not the end!
So...after two days in the possum box Jnr spent yesterday elsewhere. As she dashed along the guttering last evening as she always used to we realised that she has found a new resting place in the insulation of the lower roof level over the downstairs here at Blue Moon. Dagnabbit! She is there now, for the second day, curled up sleeping. We are too weary to do anything about it now but we do need to get that roof space blocked off at some point too!
'That darned possum!'
So...there was frantic toing and froing across the roof as the sun came up this morning as our 'unwanted' house guest tried to gain access to the roof space. She tried both sides to no avail and just when we thought we had finally won....she yet again defied belief and found another gap over the bedroom window. This afternoon Will was up there with an expanding foam gun to seal off all the smallest gaps he could find except the one she got in.She kept us waiting the longest tonight before she finally emerged. I was getting worried thinking she had perhaps been sleeping behind one of the gaps Will had filled with the foam and she had got a face full and her nostrils had been sealed off! It was after 9.00 when she finally came out. She had the cheek to sit on the bedroom window sill.
Will was straight up the ladder to seal off the final gap but as if she knew what was going on she dashed back up and back into the hole!We had to wait until she came out again! This time we didn't see her come out but I heard her on the deck roof. We were watching tv so finished the programme we were watching them went out to seal up the last hole. She was nowhere to be seen so we hope she didn't go back in because if she did she's sealed in.I don't know what is going to happen in the morning now but it never seems to go how we expect it to.
