A surprise new addition to the family!
Will has been working full time for three weeks. He came home on Friday with a beautiful hamper from the Kindergarten Management Committee as a thank you for his stepping into the breach. As it stands it looks like he still has two full weeks still to go as they are not interviewing until this coming week and then the following week he expects to be showing the new teaching assistant the ropes. On the days I have respite he goes by bus and Dulcie and I have been collecting him at the end of the day, or I have taken him in the morning and then we have collected him in the afternoon.....it works, is a bit of a hassle but not ideal. Will had an idea.Last night he found what he has been looking for, for about a week. This morning he texted Krishna.....no, not the Hindu God......but some bloke who held the key to making our life a little easier.Krishna was very slow at replying to Will's texts. All this texting was going on as we prepared for the family barbecue this afternoon for Terry and Fiona from Tasmania. Bathrooms and toilets needed to be cleaned, Pergolas needed to be swept, seats and tables needed to be wiped, baby octopus needed to be marinated and my chin needed to be shaved after nearly a fortnight of neglect.....But we could not see Krishna tonight.....it had to be before 4.00 pm.Will asked him if it would be ok to pop over to see him this morning.......15 minutes later he texted 'Yes'.Will asked for his address........15 minutes later he sent it.We headed off to Macgregor ...a suburb not too far away...... at about 12.30 pm.We had to go a long way round as the easiest route was closed for roadworks today. We found where Krishna lived. He was a Vaishnavite...........oh, you'll just have to Google Vaishnavism! We discovered perhaps why he had been so slow at replying to our texts since he had injured both of his hands and had only recently had the casts removed! We looked over what he had to offer and Will felt that it was an opportunity that was too good to miss and so agreed to buy it from him.Meet 'Jaxy!'
She will compliment 'Roxy' very well as she is the same colour. She needs a few cosmetic repairs and a good clean but Will says she is a bargain! 'Jacksy' maybe a temporary name as we might have to get a new registration plate. We are going to collect her on Tuesday.....if all goes to plan. She will allow Dulcie and I to have 'Roxy' everyday and mean no more early buses for Will and should cut down on petrol costs. I am just a little worried about the other traffic on the road......Will is not......but I still am.
We got back just after 1.30pm for the barbecue. We had a lovely afternoon feasting on fresh prawns, octopus and salmon. The Tasmanians head south tomorrow.
