A life ‘Down Under’!
The Road to Wagga Wagga.
So…we set off to Wagga Wagga last Friday. We are heading down there to set up the exhibition that Will, Tracy and Rochelle have been working on for the last year or so. They had a residency in Wagga in 2024 and the gallery were so impressed that they have commissioned an exhibition from the three of them. Will and I took two days to get down to Wagga. The first might we stopped in Narrabri and the second night in Parkes. On the first day we stopped off at the Myall Creek Memorial which is a memorial to the massacre of indigenous people by white settlers. On our second day we stopped off at the Parkes satellite dish which is from the film ‘The Dish’ starring Sam Neill. We got to Wagga on the Sunday afternoon after stopping off at the licorice and chocolate factory at Junee.

So…here are pictures of this year’s yarn-bombing of the trees down the main street in Warwick. The Art Gallery was exhibiting ‘The Red Dress’ which is travelling the World. "The Red Dress" is a Guiness World record breaking global collaborative art project created by British artist Kirstie Macleod. It is a single burgundy silk dress covered in billions of stitches by 380 craftspeople from 51 countries.

So…just this last week Deranie and Caelus have been visiting us. We went for a walk with Caelus in Girraween on Monday and climbed Castle Rock.
Sundown with Tessa.
So…recently Tessa was up for the weekend and we went for a walk at the southern end of Sundown National Park from the Broadwater Camping Area. We walked to see the Permanent Waterhole and also walked the Western Circuit.
Kingscliff.
So…a few weeks ago we went away to the coast for a few days. It was the school holidays and Will had some time off work so we wanted to do something different. We stayed in Kingscliff in apartment in a large Spa Hotel. We were there four nights. Will was still working on his soundscapes for the upcoming exhibition in Wagga Wagga so I spent the first day walking on my own. I walked down the beach to Cabarita Beach and out onto the headland and did some whale watching as Humpback Whales are moving up the coast at this time of year to the warmer waters off the north east coast of Australia. The next day Will and I had a day together exploring Hastings Point and Pottsville where we saw a Koala and a colony of bats. After that I ended up with awful food poisoning or some such bug and after a truly awful night I needed a day to recover in bed. It really knocked me for six and spoiled the break a little. I had to take some time off work when we got home but am feeling better now.
