Badger Galore
Staying ‘Up Over’ for a while.
The Badgers haven't got me yet!
So...I'm still here, just over one week in my trip 'Up Over'. It's been a busy week spending time with my Mum and catching up with all but one of my siblings in person. I have helped my brother Rod with some painting in the house he is getting ready for his In-laws, spent time catching up with some friends but all under thick, grey ominous clouds. After a bright, frosty start the days have since been grey and damp, though last Friday I did see the Sun briefly. I had forgotten how depressing it all is when the weather is like this, still today I journey to the 'Big Smoke' for a few days to see my Grandson and Co and the forecast is drier.
Tinder dry!
So...it is still only Spring but already there are numerous fires burning in South East Queensland. Most were started by a storm front that passed over a few days ago from the lightning strikes. Today there is an extreme weather warning for our area because it is hot and windy and a few dry storms are predicted. We have heard the water bombing planes and helicopters going and returning from the fire down at Wallangarra. The town has been told to leave immediately. I hope everyone is safe. The highway south is closed at Ballandean.
We can hear thunder now. We don't need more lightning. Everything is tinder dry.
This is the Wallangarra fire from our ridge.
