Badger Galore
Staying ‘Up Over’ for a while.
Closed!
So...the 'Book Cave' closed today as did the Australian border. Only Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents can now enter the country. Unfortunately they can't get into the 'Book Cave' because that is closed to everyone except staff of course. Yes, staff will still be working behind closed doors and hopefully find some way of still being able to provide some service to our community. Being casually employed I was a little concerned about what would happen to the likes of me but it seems we will still get some hours in the week for as long as we or the 'Book Cave' remain virus free. Most customers have taken the news well but some feel it an over- reaction. I think after hearing 450 people died yesterday in Italy, which is one sixth of their total of deaths occurring in one day, we cannot be complacent about all this. We really do not need to hoard toilet paper however but we do need to make sure we take more care of ourselves and, where we can, of others. It is a time for kindness but be safe all.
It's a mad, mad, mad, mad World!
So...what crazy times we are living in. It is hard to take it all in from the peaceful oasis of Frogknot. The situation changes rapidly and it's as if you wake up every morning to a new World.I had flights booked to the UK for the 31st March but decided yesterday to postpone. I am very disappointed but I cannot risk passing anything I might catch on the way on to family and friends. I can change the dates on my tickets free of charge but have to decide on new dates by the 31 March. When will it be safe to travel? How can you decide that now?It is a time of tough decisions, and I dithered over mine for days, before seeing the light. The coming months are going to be filled with strange days.We will be fine with our 'mahoosive' zucchinis!...and we have four banana plants so we can use their leaves when we run out of toilet paper! We are presently wiping every book, dvd, and magazine that is returned to the 'book cave' but I expect eventually it will shut for awhile. Will will be alright making cheese alone, in the early hours, in his converted shipping container. He's been self isolating for years.Just stay safe everyone and wash your hands and don't hog all the toilet paper.
