Staying ‘Up Over’ for a while.
Never underestimate a possum!
So...despite our serious attempts, yesterday evening, to block off Jnr's new sleeping quarters guess where she slept today? No, not the compact and bijou possum box I lovingly built, no, back in the same place she slept yesterday. Yes, behind the bit we blocked off! It must have been a tight squeeze because when it came time for her to rise this evening she couldn't get out again! We heard her trying to bite her way out then we heard her wriggling all over the ceiling trying to find another way out! Will was furious and was all for throttling her! We had to lever open the gap she got in to widen it and I tempted her out with some banana. We then set about stuffing any gaps we could find with socks. I seriously doubt she will find a way in now...but I've said that before. I've learned you should never underestimate a possum!
'Butter wouldn't melt...'
So...yet again we have braved the hoard of mosquitoes to block up this little monster's new daytime roof squat. Have we won now?Where will she end up tomorrow?
Three days!
So...lovely as it is to get all the rain we have been enjoying, the down side of all this water is that the weeds have gone crazy! It has taken us three days to get the garden from this
to this.
No...not the end!
So...after two days in the possum box Jnr spent yesterday elsewhere. As she dashed along the guttering last evening as she always used to we realised that she has found a new resting place in the insulation of the lower roof level over the downstairs here at Blue Moon. Dagnabbit! She is there now, for the second day, curled up sleeping. We are too weary to do anything about it now but we do need to get that roof space blocked off at some point too!
