Possum Galore
A life ‘Down Under’!
Is 'he' or isn't 'he'?
So...here was Jnr emerging last night
'He' found the only place we haven't managed to seal up yet because we ran out of fibreboard. This morning 'he' was back just before dawn and in his frustration resorted to force and attempted vandalism to try and get into his usual sleeping spot on the eastern side of the roof. It sounded like 'he' was scratching or chewing his way in...but he failed and headed over to the western side where he had managed to get in last night. There were more scrabblings about before a loud 'thud' and then silence......I think 'he' fell down onto the deck. I was half expecting to find a dead possum lying there this morning but nothing....no trace. Surely if you spend most of your life in a tree you must be able to survive a few tumbles. So...is 'he' or isn't 'he' sleeping in the roof again, or is 'he' or isn't 'he' in Possum hospital?
Possum Impossible!
So...after much scrabbling around in the early hours of the morning, trying to get back into the roof before the sun came up, Jnr actually, somehow, succeeded in finding a way in!He's up there sleeping now! Enjoy little possum, it's your last night under this roof!(Famous last words).
Squatter!
So...we had one day free of our Possum roof dwellers since Will boarded up all the entrances but we were rudely awakened in the early hours this morning by someone loudly and roughly attempting to gain access. We are not sure how he did it but Possum Jnr is back under the roof.Grrrrr! Back to the drawing board!
Thanks Huey, but please can we have some more?
After sunset a storm brew up and we had a bit of rain but nothing much.Elsewhere there has been some flooding in various places and all this rain has helped to dampen down many of those fires that are still burning. At Tracy's the Clarence River has risen over the bank. She had 80 mls in three hours last night.
The Clarence at Ashby.
