Staying ‘Up Over’ for a while.
A New Look!
So...I have had to upgrade the site as I had run out of space and did not have any more room to post pictures. Unfortunately you cannot just buy more storage space but have to upgrade to the next level to increase your space. You get sucked in by everything being free initially but when your first 3GB of storage space are gone you then have to pay for the next 3GB or move elsewhere or start again somewhere else but by that point you have invested so much into your site that you cannot face abandoning the continuity of it. This is the second upgrade the site will have gone through though hopefully, despite a bigger annual fee, I should not have to worry about this again, hopefully, for another six years. I have used 6GB of space but now have 13GB. In six years when the time comes to upgrade again it will be a different matter because the cost of the next upgrade is way out of my league but there's no need to worry about that now.In the meantime the upgrade means there are now more options available to me , for example, I can add video and audio clips in the future. Please let me know what you think of this new look as I can always go back to the old one, though I know some people found that one a bit awkward on mobile devices.Be honest...or you can just click on the 'star' icon to like this post. Thanks.
The 'Book Cave' Book of the Week.
So...with the new school year starting here in Queensland today here is an appropriate book. I wonder if it might help me too?
Mashed Quiche.
So...in an attempt to use up some eggs, today I decided I would make my first ever quiche. As it turns out it only needed four eggs which hardly made a dent in the dozens we have amassed but I had already made the pastry before I discovered that. After battling to get the flippin' chilled dough rolled out and then discovering I needed baking beans to bake it blind which I didn't have....it is a near miracle that finally the thing I pulled out of the oven looked and snelled so damn good.I left it to rest for a few moments before, itching to try it, I attempted to slip it out of the flan dish which had one of those removable flat bottoms. All was going well until the whole thing tipped out of my hands and landed upside down on the counter top.By the time we got it back the right way up it looked less like a quiche and more like scrambled egg on toast.Still it was quite delicious if, like the baking, you ate it blind.
Baking Day!
So...the most Australian thing I did today was made some Dulcie biscuits I think she would have been proud of!
Just google 'Dulcie's Famous Anzacs' or 'Dulcie's Jamdrops' for the recipes.
