Cicada Summer.
So...we get cicadas emerging from the ground every year, some species emerge each year whilst others remain under ground for up to nine years or more. This year there are more cicadas than usual. Cicadas are the noisiest insects in the World and up close the sound can literally hurt your ears...with the smoke from distant bushfires and the constant screaming of the cicadas summer here is definitely and assault on the senses.
Dogsitters.
So...this weekend we have been dog/house sitting for our friends Yvonne and Steve. Yvonne works with me at the 'Book Cave'. We have been looking after Bandit
while Yvonne and Steve are away for the weekend. Their property is about two square kilometres. We have had a wander around it today. It was probably not the best time to see it with everything being so dry and since last night smoke from the fires in NSW has been drifting over is making it very hazy.
