Cicada Summer.

So...we get cicadas emerging from the ground every year, some species emerge each year whilst others remain under ground for up to nine years or more. This year there are more cicadas than usual. Dogsitters.

So...this weekend we have been dog/house sitting for our friends Yvonne and Steve. Yvonne works with me at the 'Book Cave'. Settling back in...and so are the ants!

So...today has been busy. We got some washing done and I tidied away my holiday clothes.I cleaned out the pantry cupboard as we are battling an ant invasion at TT the moment. Yesterday I found them on the brown sugar and caster sugar jars as the kids had not been screwed on tight enough. Then today they were all over the pomegranate molasses bottle. I emptied the cupboard and wiped everything down an then went out and cleaned Rhonda inside and out. The dust gets everywhere. Back in the house afterwards I discovered the ants had found the empty jam jar will had left by the sink. So I tossed that outside. We nipped over to see the neighbours for a bit before coming back for tea...those flippin' ants had now found the honey!Drastic action needs to be taken. Tomorrow I will spray all the house posts just above the ground to deter these little sweet toothed pests!
