Return of the Dragons.

So...as the weather warms up the dragons have returned from their brumation. I nearly ran one over on the road today as it lay there sunning itself. This one was back at Frogknot...

Amazing amphibians!

So...it is lovely to hear the frogs calling in the dam once again now that some water has returned but quite incredible that so many have survived the many dry weeks down there.How did they survive and where were they hiding?

Back pedalling.

So...today we have been busy changing the set up at the back ( front, as Will calls it) of the house where the hot water tank and solar hot water panels are. The frame that we originally built was for a larger tank that turned out to be a dud and we fell back on our old, smaller tank which has been providing more than enough hot water for us. Today we removed the old frame, moved the smaller tank to a new platform and re-fitted two of the solar panels further back, resting on the lower roof where they will, hopefully, catch more sunlight. It looks much neaterand... despite more wailing and gnashing of teeth...is a good job done.

Welcome back!

So... a few days after we buy some water to fill some of our tanks it rains!Yesterday we were predicted to get 20 to 40 mls of rain but experience has shown that we always end up missing out and yet yesterday, overall in 24 hours, we actually got 40 mls.It's not yet full but 'Welcome back Dam!'

It's been so long but I think I remember that this is called a puddle!
