Possum Galore
A life ‘Down Under’!
A Trip to Toowoomba.
So...today we took Anne to Toowoomba. Toowoomba is about 2 hour drive north of Stanthorpe. We had lunch at Picnic Point on the edge of the Great Dividing Range looking out over the Lockyer Valley. Later we released Anne into the wilds of the Grand Central Shopping Mall and went in search of a solar heating company to ask advice about our hot water system. It turned out to be a wild goose chase as the place was up for sale and the company long gone. We had arranged to meet Anne back at Grand Central at 4.30pm and when she didn't show up at the appointed time Will guessed she had headed in the wrong direction. He went in search of her and found her but she still had not finished her shopping. When we finally escaped we popped over to Andrew's for a quick visit and then arrived home about 7.30 pm.
Anne meets Norman.
So...today we were going to go for a walk at Bald Rock but it is still closed after the bush fire at the end of February. We took Anne up Mt Norman instead. We last went a few weeks before the fire with Phoebe. It was the first time we had been back. The fire had been much worse here than the bush around Castle Rock. On the way to the National Park we saw an echidna...
There was a Kookaburra to welcome us home.
Cosy.
So...last night was a bit blustery and this morning was very cold but we are snug and warm in Blue Moon House this evening with the stove belting out the heat. Anne is avoiding pictures by hiding behind her book. She ventured off alone again today and 'claims' to have seen the fox again. (Funny that Will and I have not seen it.) She went for a walk down the road and would you believe returned with some shopping?! She nipped into the winery down the road and came back with two bottles of wine. I hope the simple, bush life isn't making her turn to drink!
