Staying ‘Up Over’ for a while.
More disappointment.
So...we got 4.5 mm from the rain yesterday. People on the north side of town had between 40 and 70 and there were places around Brisbane that got over 100 mms. Today it was predicted that we had an 80% chance of up to 5 mm. A big storm passed us to the south and again we have had nothing.Tomorrow the forecast says there is a 70% chance of 10 to 20 mms.Dare we hope?
Hitting the deck.
Not Fair Dinkum!
So...yesterday it was predicted we had an 80% chance of 5 -10 mm of rain. I cleaned out all the gutters in anticipation...and we got nothing. We could hear the thunder all around us but it passed us by again. This morning we heard there was a possibility of a Mesoscale Complex System forming over the Granite Belt tonight which could amount to 100 mm of rain. It is 7.15 pm and it is raining lightly and has been raining on and off for about 90 minutes. We have heard that Warwick has already had 80 mm of rain this afternoon. We appear to be on the very edge of the system and are dreading it sliding away from us. We don't need our hopes dashing again.
Thirsty visitors.
we are noticing more and more visitors coming for a much needed drink.Yesterday a metre long Lace Monitor Lizard wandered down for a drink...
before escaping up a tree when I went to get a picture of it. Today there was a different visitor...
Can you see it?
Well, knock me down with an emu feather!
So...I got two unexpected emails today. The first one informed me that the Resident Return visa I applied for yesterday has been granted. When you have been waiting over a year to hear about your Citizenship application and you waited for over 9 months to get your original Partner Visa confirmed you hardly expect such a quick response. I was told yesterday that 75% of people requesting Resident Return visas hear within 4 days and 91% hear with in 71 days. To be honest that was no help at all and was as clear as mud to me. Does it make sense to you? Anyway I heard one day later....and it was unexpected. The second email was even more of a shock. I don't know if my Resident Return visa request arriving in some government office with a loud 'PING!' woke somebody up but it's strange that after 13 months of nothing I finally get some indication that my Citizenship application has not been mislaid or accidentally shredded. I have been called for a Citizenship Interview and to sit the Citizenship test in Brisbane on the 11th April. You don't think the Government is reading this blog do you?
