The End of Days............at the 'Book Cave.'

So...since November last year I have been pretty busy at the 'Book Cave' filling in the gaps left by the three people that left. Two new people have now been appointed and from today I go back to my few 'casual' hours a fortnight. The weeks ahead on the calendar look pretty bare workwise. I have emailed all the local school Principals to say that I will be available for Teacher Cover and while most have replied and thanked me saying that they will keep me in mind, a nameless few have not even bothered to reply. I will remember that.I have discovered however that, since last year, the district has appointed three relief teachers (DRT's) which schools are 'technically' to call upon in the first instance...that will be why I have had no phone calls yet this year.'A pox upon your DRT's!'Heck, no work, no money, no rain, no carbs...I'm doing it tough!

So long Fast February.

So...since the beginning of the month I have been existing on more or less 800 calories a day. It was hard to stick to it but I am glad I did. I have lost just over 6 kgs. Tomorrow I might just have some chips, a couple of biscuits and some chocolate before I move on to fasting 2 days a week for the next month.Hello 'Moderation March'.

A 'dumb' squib, not a damp one!

So...Oma is no longer a cyclone and has been downgraded to a tropical low and she is meandering up and down and round about off the coast and being kept from coming ashore by the front from the  high pressure that continues to dry up our dam and shrivel our garden.On a happier note the Girraween fire, though still apparently burning, is under control and contained. We have had no smoke for the last few days and so we are moving back into Blue Moon tonight.
