So...this week instead of my normal 3 hours at the Book Cave I will have spent 21 hours there.Today was quite a quiet day but someone had wandered along the non fiction shelves browsing books and then hadn't bothered to put them back where they found them and just left them at the end of the row. Practically every shelf had one or two books that needed putting back correctly.I tidied all the children's books and they looked so neat. It was all I could do to not shout 'Hey! I've tidied those. Leave them alone!'...every time a child wandered in.One four year old customer had a joke for us."Why was the caterpillar embarrassed?"We didn't know why the caterpillar was embarrassed."...because the Centipede!........Ha!......it means the Centi weed. Peed is another word for weed" He explained.Annie came in."Hello, I was here on your first day and I think I was a bit cheeky," she said."Yes, I remember you said 'Dream of me' as you were leaving.""Yes!" she said.I hadn't seen her since. She has had some health issue and had been in hospital for a brain operation."I have a new Doctor now," she said, "He's 27. I call him 'Sexy'. You're sexy." She winked.Yep, she was still cheeky but it appealed to the 27 year old still living on the inside of me.A little later in the loos I caught site of myself in the mirror and the 27 year old me on the inside was shocked. It was quite obvious Annie's brain operation had affected her judgement or her Doctor had perhaps registered her 'blind'!I did get a wave from Toerag though as he popped in after school. That was nice.
