Poor Pacha.

So...this morning we discovered that sometime, while we have been away, (but probably only just this morning), Pacha's chick got stuck in the feed box after the lid came down trapping it inside. The chick has sadly died.Poor Pacha.

The Beast from the East.

So....things are looking a bit nippy 'Up Over' at the moment as much of the UK is covered in snow. From the pictures I've seen it does look like the worst snowstorm I can ever remember experiencing. 50 cms has been forecast in some places but the wind will cause drifts much deeper than that. It is so bad that the school I worked at for 17 years and which was always open, when all around were shut, has finally succumbed to closure.Heck, when you think that the country has ground to a halt when faced with 2 cm of snow in the past it really must be a struggle.I am thinking of you all and though it is a pleasant 25 degrees we are suffering too. Most of the sky today is a cloudy white with only a few blue patches. We will just all have to grin and bear it.Chin up, the sun will come out tomorrow, or next week, or next month, or next year...but it will come eventually. XX

Preparing the way!

So...next week we are having some very special visitors.  The road up to Frogknot is not at its best at the moment, with the recent rain carving mini canyons in it, so today we cleared a new path through to our neighbours property.  Now our visitors can avail themselves of our neighbours more vehicle friendly drive and cut through the newly cleared bush track to Frogknot. ( It will also serve as a fire break and an escape route in the event of a bush fire.)
We cleared it by hand and then our neighbour gave the route a 'scrape' with his Bobcat.Job done!
