Staying ‘Up Over’ for a while.
Catching Up!

From the heat of a Queensland summer we have been thrust into the cold of a northern English winter. It was -1 C this morning and we are wrapped up in fleeces for most of the day. Stepping out of the 'warmth' of the supermarket the other night (weird because the supermarkets we have become used to are air conditioned and cool!) into the cold, damp atmosphere of a dark February evening made me feel as 'Christmassy' as I have felt since leaving for Australia.
Tomorrow we head to London.
Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible!
So...it is Day 3 'Up Over' and we have been very busy.Unfortunately on the day we left Frogknot my computer power cable decided to stop working but happily today I was able to get a replacement so we are back in business. Will spent the day today doing.....guess what? Yes, cheese making! He worked from 8.00 am until 5.00 pm making blue cheese and cheddar at a Cheese Farm at Crofton Hall. He learnt lots from the day and haa other cheese excursions planned while we are here. There is much to catch up on....and I will catch you up but for now I am too tired and bed beckons but normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.
Cold at last!
So...we have arrived safely 'Up Over' after a long journey. We are tired.Goodnight.
Coming ready or not!
So...the day has finally arrived. It is just after midnight here in Brisbane and we still have 90 minutes to wait before we can board the plane but we are all checked in.The woman at passport control was interested in my being a teacher and she despaired at the youth of today and said they need their mouths washing out with soap.It will be good to escape the heat down here for a bit.We spent yesterday in Brisbane firstly in the air conditioning of a shopping mall and then the Gallery of Modern Art where their 10th anniversary exhibition was pretty much the best I have seen there. (Pics to follow when I get the chance). So shortly we leave for Dubai via Singapore and then on to Manchester later this very day. We're coming, ready or not!
Show Day 2
So...tonight we are in Brisbane after leaving Frogknot about lunchtime today after packing our bags and leaving the place shipshape.
Tonight we were at QPAC (The Queensland Performing Arts Centre) to see 'Matilda' the musical.
It was a Christmas present from Andrew. It is such a great show and we first saw it in London and thought it was the best show we have ever seen. Andrew saw it recently and loved it too and wanted to see it again so got tickets for himself, Ros and us to see it tonight.
If you get the chance...Go see it!
