More Home improvements.

So...we have been making a few small changes and improvements here at Frogknot. Yesterday Will collected up all the pipe we were using a few months back to try and syphon water from Foxwater into the dam and we laid it out on the ground by the house...p1020720-mediumThe plan was to divert water into it, let the sun heat it up and then use it for showers....It works! We now don't have to light a fire to warm the water on days when it is too hot to have a fire.Yesterday we also picked up 2 cupboards from the tip shop and today I cleaned and painted them and we have now doubled our kitchen storage capacity...
We now also have a hammock in the garden. It was a Christmas present from Deranie and Phoebe...p1020719-mediumThe weather has cooled down today and we had some rain this afternoon which was great.Something else that is great...p1020724-mediumSomething we found in Brisbane whilst on another 'fruitless' (boom boom) Vimto hunt!

Help! My Timtams are melting!

So...the hot weather goes on and on.We are already on our third heatwave and another is predicted for the end of the week. The poor fridge is using up far more gas than normal to keep it's contents cool and my timtams are melting.I have tried shutting up the house during the day to keep the heat out and then opening up the windows after dark but there is hardly any difference to just keeping all the windows and doors open all day.I just feel clammy all day and we are having cold showers! ....I am actually choosing to have a cold shower! It is unheard of Up Over! The garden is shrivelling and the only thing keeping it going is the Cheesemaker watering for hours at dusk.I suspect the chickens are actually slowly roasting under their feathers. Here is a video from earlier this week that was on the news...https://www.facebook.com/7NewsBrisbane/videos/1087234074622777/

Feast!

So...the night before last we had our lovely neighbours over for dinner. We had Vietnamese wraps and they brought a plate full (arranged by Jarrah) of the yabbies  they had caught in their dam.
