Badger Galore
Staying ‘Up Over’ for a while.
Preparing to build.
Phew!
So...Since my last foray into the classroom, weeks ago, I have not heard anything... no phone calls or emails requiring my services at all. While I have enjoyed my time at home I was beginning to wonder why I was not hearing anything.I have recently been contacted by the Payroll Teacher Classifications team saying that they had not sighted my qualifications (which I had sent to them ages ago), then I got another email asking for a Statement of Service from my previous employer. I rang Cumbria County Council and they said that they would send one off for me once I sent them the email detailing what was required. Two weeks passed and I heard nothing. I emailed the Payroll team here and asked them if they had received the information required. It took four days for them to reply! They had received nothing so I emailed Cumbria County Council again and they replied saying that they couldn't do it because I was not on their payroll and as a teacher I should be contacting CAPITA.All this hassle lead me to think that it had something to do with why I was not getting any work. Finally I had a phone call on Wednesday asking me if I could fill in for two hours on Thursday....it was in the realm of Toerag and Fidget. Of course I did it....it was only for two hours after all.Today I have been asked to do a day in Prep on Monday and three days the following week in the Y1/2 class I was in for 8 days previously.Phew! I am still needed.
Introducing Geronimo!
...our new (bigger) generator.Life can be tough here at Frogknot and sadly 'Jenny' couldn't quite keep up with us though perhaps we asked too much of her. She began to vibrate too much and then stopped producing power. We are being sent replacement parts and hopefully we can get her back on her rubber feet soon.It was, most probably, the washing machine that did her in but now we have 'Geronimo'. Today we hooked him up and were able to do 2 loads of washing in our new washing machine at last!
