Timing!

So...I was hoping that while Phoebe was here that the International Space Station would pass over and sure enough last night it did!...but it was very cloudy and we did not get a good view. I thought that was our last chance but no....it passed over again this evening and we had a great view as the sky was completely clear!You can't have everything. A clear sky also probably means another frost....and we are still in the tent!

Castle Rock.

So...today we went for a walk in Girraween National Park with Deranie and Phoebe. We climbed Castle Rock. I had not done this walk before and like the Pyramid and Mount Norman it was a great walk with spectacular views from the Summit.

Noises in the night.

So...Deranie and Phoebe are here with us for a few days as they stop off on their trip up to The Great Barrier Reef.Will and I are camping out in the tent, in the shed, while they are here and last night it got down to -4 degrees. I went to bed extremely tired and thought I was in for a good night's sleep but no.....Firstly, there was the eerie rasping of one-eyed possums in the darkness then just after midnight Yudhishthira started crowing.I must have been dozing finally because I was woken by a car revving its engine at 1.00 am. It sounded fairly close by and I woke Will. It sounded as if someone was stuck and trying to get their car out of a ditch or something. I thought it sounded like someone on our drive up to the house but Will wasn't convinced.Eventually we heard the car reversing for a long while and then heard it roar off.Sure enough, when Will came back from turning the cheese he made yesterday he said that there were tracks halfway up our drive where someone had tried to turn their car around.It is slightly disturbing that someone would head up our drive when it really does not look like a continuation of Garth Lane and at 1.00 am in the morning. Surely they were up to no good. We need to get a gate and possibly a Direwolf quick!After they had gone I tried to get to sleep again but the cockerel started crowing again. I decided to count how many times it crowed before it stopped....I counted 13 crows. It didn't put me at ease.

I had this idea to make a 'FROGKNOT' sign to go at the bottom of the drive....We found all these letters on the property though we had to wander all over it to find them. I need to find a suitable log to which I can attach them now....watch this space!

Welcome!

So...we are expecting some people to come and fit a satellite dish to our new shed so that we can finally get some decent internet connection. It is very remote where we live and anyone who comes the 1 km up our drive must be coming for a valid reason but as I was home alone the other day I began to wonder what I would do if someone turned up unexpectedly and I did not know them...what if there motives were not friendly.I decided that if I was unsure of who they were I would greet them like this...I thought it very amusing though Will was a little disturbed.Later that evening I spotted this...
