Welcome!

Our first chickens arrived today and have spent the day in their new home. It was not a day for going out as it rained for practically most of it. I am not complaining because we needed the rain and the dam has risen a couple of inches. It was good steady rain and we have 25 mls in the rain gauge. We have also been keeping an eye on our neighbours animals while they are away. We have been feeding their boys tropical fish, making sure the hens and duck had fresh water and feeding their pig.DSCF2622 (Medium)I went over today in a lull in the rain to feed them all and found the pig's food trough full of water. I couldn't reach through the fence to tip it out so had to go in. The flippin' pig bit me! I was trying to fend it off and it bit my hand. It was a bit scary because I have seen the film' Hannibal'...I managed to empty the trough and get out alive. One more day and then the neighbours will be back...thank goodness!
