All good things must come to an end!

Where did the past four weeks go? It has flown by.Today was Anne's last day.We went this morning to The Cliff's Cafe as Anne wanted to return there for a piece of their Raspberry and Almondine Tart and then we came back home so Anne could pack.Surprisingly she was not over her baggage limit of 30 kgs despite her Australian purchases and her checked baggage weighed in at 27 kgs.We have had a wonderful time while she has been here. I told her we would have fun and we certainly did. Will and I are going to miss her.Anne's plane has just left Brisbane Airport and she is on her way to Dubai. She was here for 27 days and in that time we have walked for 46 hours and walked a distance of 156 kilometres.

The Last Adventure!......with more shopping!

So.........today Will was back at work and Anne and I headed down to the Gold Coast. We had hardly set off when she pulled a leaflet from her bag that she had picked up after an unsuccessful visit to a swimwear shop in Bondi. The leaflet listed other places where they sold Baku swimming costumes."Are we going near any of these places? she asked.I didn't know......but it just so happened that one of them was a place called Harbour Town......and what should we pass 45 minutes later?Harbour Town is Factory Outlet Shopping Village and we eventually found the shop Anne was looking for........Of course she came out having made a purchase. We drove on to Southport and walked out at the end of The Spit then parked up again in Surfer's Paradise and had a wander and an ice cream before heading back home. This evening Anne and I went into the City for a last walk by the river. We parked at New Farm and walked to Tenerife and caught the ferry back under the bridge. As the ferry sped down the river, standing at the front it was as if we were flying over the water. We got off the ferry at Riverside and walked back to New Farm along the river. Just before we walked back under the bridge the flight Anne will be leaving on tomorrow flew over the City.

A musical interlude and a feast.

We have had a restful day today......along with the Sun who, for today at least, seems to be visiting friends elsewhere. We spent the second half of the afternoon at a music concert by the folk trio 'One Step Forward'. It was their last concert performing together and Will has known them all for many years but it was the first time I had seen them sing. It was a lovely afternoon and a musical treat to listen to their lovely harmonies. Will was happy to meet up again with lots of his folk friends and they were very happy to see him again.Afterwards we went into the city where Anne took us out for a meal.
