So......yesterday the temperature reached

It was a great day for getting all the washing done!

Dulcie and I battened down the hatches and switched on the air-con.

My 'Straddie' mosquito bites are less irritating than they have been the past few days....which is good. I am hoping to, one day, be like Will who does not come out in itchy lumps like I do.

Last night while watching the tv in the Man-Cave....something dashed up the wall like a small Maserati....it was a large huntsman spider. I wanted to catch it and throw it out but could not find anything large enough handy to put over it.....and besides, with the speed of it would probably have missed it anyway.....so I left it to whizz behind the book case.

We had to leave a fan on wafting cool air over us as we slept last night. I had a weird dream where strange noises in the dark woke me up....only I suddenly found it was not a dream and I could hear the strange noises.....it was quite alarming at first....particularly with Halloween so close....but then I realised what it was.....

It's a wonder I got back to sleep!

So.....next month Brisbane hosts the G20 summit of World leaders. It's funny that this time last year English cricketer Kevin Peterson caused uproar here by saying that no-one outside of Australia had ever heard of Brisbane.....well, come the 15th and 16th November we will be all over your TV news.We can't wait for Mr Rabbit, the Prime Minister here, to 'shirt front' Vladimir Putin, as he has promised he will.....I reckon Putin will ignore him completely and keep well away......in a Rabbit and Putin fight .....my money would be on Putin.Mr Putin is not welcome here.....but it is not up to Australia to ban him.....there are certainly going to be protests over the shooting down of MH17.As a build up to the summit Brisbane is pulling out all the stops and for the next 2 weeks we have the G20 Cultural Celebrations, one of which is 'Colour Me Brisbane'.....where the city is lit up after dark with spectacular light shows and of course the Story Bridge, where you can go along to a special booth and program in your own colour combinations and at the press of a button your design lights up the bridge....more on that coming up.....but first, this is how we spent today......

 

Women in Voice - 21

So ......last night we went to the Judith Wright Centre to see this years Women in Voice show.

It was a wonderful evening of song and laughter topped off with 'Larry Paradisio's' homage to Conchita Wurst's Eurovision winner - "Rise like a Penis.".......sorry, but it was really funny.
