A life ‘Down Under’!
Still jumpy....after all this time.
After almost a year on 'Danger Island' I am a little more relaxed about moving around in the open and yet I am not blasé.Tonight whilst popping down to put some recycling in the bin I was startled by something lying on the lawn beside Roxy in the darkness.I almost squealed but the loud people over the road were sitting on their balcony talking loudly.I was a little relieved to see that it was not snake shaped.It looked suspiciously like a bat....but I have not heard of bats moon bathing upon lawns or resting, lying down rather than hanging upside down. I surmised it was a dead bat and gave it a wide berth to dump the junk in the recycling bin but could not resist going for a closer look on the way back.It was Will's hankie.

"What's this?" asked Dulcie as Goldfinger came on Channel 9 last night."It's James Bond, Ma, " said Will.Shirley Bassey burst into song over the opening credits...."This is the best Bond theme ever," said Will.Dame Shirley warbled on."Bloody awful singing," said Dulcie."It's Shirley Bassey," said Will."Well, I wouldn't want a record of that!" Said Dulcie, "....I think I'll go to bed."
Golden Calamari to Golden Koala.
Our day started at the Rocklea markets with Golden Calamari.....the owner who is from Leeds was back from his UK trip.We were back just in time to find Dulcie just arriving in the kitchen for her breakfast.I spent much of the day painting under the house. I have been painting the walls in the area outside the Man-Cave where the new shower room is and I am going to paint the floor with the paving paint we used in the Man-Cave. The painted floor is so much easier to sweep and keep clean.
I have also painted an old wardrobe so we have extra storage
Will was out fertilising his garden. It is looking good.
We are already on our second planting of the year.
Daisy Hill Koala Centre.
After not spotting any Koalas yesterday in Karawatha Forest, we drove to Daisy Hill Koala Centre today to definitely see some. The Koalas here are no longer able to be released back into the wild and are kept for educational purposes.[gallery ids="3830,3819,3840,3841,3842,3820,3821,3822,3844,3843,3824,3826,3838,3827,3836,3835,3837,3823,3839,3825,3831,3832,3833,3828,3834"]Of course, this was not the closest I have been to a Koala......
This is Orion in 2010....he may look cute but he was actually poohing on me.
