The Return of the Prophet of Doom!
So...the 'Book Cave' has been open all week for 'browsing and borrowing' only for up to 10 customers at a time. It has been very quiet as I am still not sure that people realise we are open again. It has been in the paper, on the council website and Facebook but it just goes to show that most of our customers do not look at those places. It will pick up when word of mouth gets around I think.One of the few customers who came in today was the 'elderly scientist' who earlier in the year predicted World War Three by the end of the year. I dubbed him 'The Prophet of Doom.'He came in to collect a book that his wife had reserved.I handed it over."Thank you" he said, "Let's hope the situation gets better soon...before the country finally goes bust." He paused briefly and then added..."but then I think that is the whole point. It's all part of the plan to make us weak. What better time to attack a country when it can't afford weapons?....See you."… and off he went leaving us under a dark cloud.
'Get out of the way!'
So...this little Walleroo just sat in the middle of the driveway as I came home tonight with my headlights blazing. I almost had to nudge it with the bumper before it hopped off.
Not such a bad place to live.
